ISLAMABAD: A joint statement issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Ministry of Health has stated that till date no cas
e of Chikungunya virus has been confirmed in Pakistan any information circulating with regard to confirmation of any case is incorrect and misleading.
The statement has be
en issued in view of the unconfirmed reports about the presenc
e of Chikungunya virus in Karachi, Sindh, especially in the areas of Malir.
The statement further added that the WHO, the Ministry of Health, and the Sindh Department of Health are wo
rking closely in the wake of
these unconfirmed repor
ts and are carrying out the required measures.
