ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has taken notice of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s use of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister’s official helicopter for non-government visits.
According to a press release issued by the NAB, the chairman has ordered bureau’s provincial director general to conduct an inquiry.
“The PTI chief used the MI-17 helicopter for 22 hours and an aquarial helicopter for 52 hours” it added.
The DG was also directed to determine if the KP Cheif Minister Pervaiz Khattak misused his authority. It is also to be reviewed that in which capacity the CM let Imran use a state-owned helicopter.
It is not the first time KP government is being alleged of misusing its resources. in November last year, the CM was spotted using his official helicopter to attend a wedding ceremony in Mansehra.
A few hours after the NAB ordered the inquiry, PTI Cheif chaired a meeting of party’s core committee members at Bani Galla. It was decided in the meeting that KP government would respond to the inquiry soon.
